Campus Life

Our Campus

It is never only about academics, but also enhancing the student’s potential in terms of co-curricular, cultural and sports activities. Institute encourages students to take part in activities which can enrich their personality in and out to empower their capabilities.

SSE believes that the true potentials of students cannot be realized through academics alone. The students need to be provided with opportunities for exploring and enhancing their talents in extra- curricular activities as well. Accordingly, our academic programs are backed up with appropriate co- curricular and extra-curricular inputs promoting culture, sports, self-governance, ethics and values; all of which help the students towards becoming complete professional.

It’s a diverse community of students at SSE, and the activities on offer are as diverse and varied too. From entertainment to extra-curricular or even religious pursuits, there’s never a dull moment on campus.

There’s never a dull moment on campus, as the activities on offer are as diverse and varied too – from entertainment to extra-curricular or even religious pursuits.

SSE involved in the concentration of sports activities of the students and staff members, Students are encouraged to take part in various kinds of physical activities to keep their body and mind strong and alert. SSE has Separate Sports Centre inside the campus.

Sports activities help the students to keep them fit both mentally and physically. The institution provides abundant facilities for the students to get accustomed with the varied sports activities like Basket Ball, Football , Hockey, Cricket, Throw ball, Ball-badminton, Kabbadi, Aesthetics, Kho-Kho, Volley Ball and indoor games like Badminton, Chess, Carom, Table Tennis and Weight-lifting. Our students know all the angles, to bring laurels to the college and themselves.

We should define our extracurricular activities in broad terms. The extra-curricular we encourage are –

Arts : Theatre, music, dance, painting, photography, creative writing and other creative endeavours.

Clubs : Chess club, athletes, mock trial, debate, animi club, role playing club, language clubs, film club, diversity/minority groups and so on.

Sports : Football, baseball, hockey, track, gymnastics, dance, lacrosse, swimming, soccer, skiing, cheerleading and so on.

Club Activities are important in several ways. For one, participation in a supervised constructive activity limits the time that is available for less constructive activity, such as television watching, or for getting involved in risky behaviours. For another, activities offered by clubs or youth organizations enable members to learn valuable skills. Many of the activities offered by clubs help students to extend and elaborate on the more formal knowledge learned in school.

Club membership provides an opportunity to participate in new roles. The leadership roles that are available in clubs provide a valuable experience that is not generally available to young people. Other roles, such as being a helper in a service club, a soloist in a music club, or an artist making scenery in a drama club, enable identity exploration.

Finally, relationships formed with adult leaders and with peers at the clubs are important. Adults and peers at these organizations can serve as models and as sources of social support, friendship, and caring. Several developmental theories point to the importance of adult mentoring for child and adolescent development. Mentoring relationships are important characteristics of clubs and youth programs.

With all the information that bombards today’s college students, Professors are faced with a universal challenge ‘How to make their lessons intriguing?’ New education culture and fast paced life demands the teachers to change their teaching style to be more engaging and interactive. At SSE, to overcome this challenge we have introduced ‘Smart Classrooms’ which help to capture student’s attention by integrating teaching methods with the technology. The idea behind SMART classrooms is to engage students in a lesson by presenting material through intriguing visuals on a multi-media system that incorporates the use of Internet, PowerPoint, CD and DVD much more effectively than its one-dimensional chalkboard counterpart. Not only is the technology user-friendly, it is designed to blend into the architecture so that it becomes part of the classroom.

This technology not only helps to deliver an interesting lecture but also provide time and platform for interactive learning where more students in the class can participate and benefit.

The visual aids are helping our students to present their projects, documentaries, seminars etc. We are also using this facility for conducting different workshops for the students in the classrooms.

Our faculty are well equipped and trained to use this new technology and deliver their lectures in the best method available.
