Overview

Admission to all courses i.e. Bachelors in Engineering (B.E.) are carried out through the single window system of the JNTUA. Students can choose the courses based upon the state-wise rank calculated by their marks in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Department of Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Reservations are provided for BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST etc. as per the rules of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Reservations are also provided for physically handicapped / Ex-Service men / Sports persons / other state candidates.

Eligibility

Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible:

  • Candidates should be of Indian Nationality or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.
  • Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh / Telangana. The candidates should satisfy Local / Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh / Telangana. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
  • For Engineering courses:
    • Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana, along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidates enrolled from academic year 2000 onwards, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana. Or Candidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana.
    • In the case of engineering courses, candidates should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.
    • The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission to the above course.

Procedure

Category – A seats ( 70%) :

Students can gain admission in Andhra Pradesh engineering Colleges through the EAM-CET or Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test conducted by the Jawahar Lal Technical University (JNTU, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE. The qualifying percentage of marks at EAMCET is 25% or 40 out of 160. However, for candidates belonging to SC and ST no ‘minimum qualifying marks’ is prescribed by the Council. But the admission is limited to the extent of reserved seats in the said categories.

Having appeared in the exam, the candidates then are placed in the merit list based on the marks scored and ranked. The counseling and branch preferences are then possible.Student has to go through the counseling process of eamcet to come under category-A seats.

Category – B seats:

30% seats are filled under the management quota where the college may conduct its own admission test and take students on the merit basis .
